Jimmy Fortune suffered a nightmare with Red Jade at Nottingham last week but can ease the pain of a 10-day ban with victory back at the same track on Wednesday.

The rider was penalised for dropping his hands close home aboard the juvenile in an average event last week but the duo can right that wrong with victory in the first division of the racinguk.tv Maiden Stakes.

This Dubai Destination colt is a half-brother to French Oaks victor West Wind but was still allowed to go off as a 16/1 chance on his first trip to the track.

John Gosden's runner was well off the pace early on and any hopes of winning were probably dashed when he was hampered two furlongs from home.

He eventually finished third, with Fortune penalised for not riding out for second in the shadow of the post.

Red Jade should have learned plenty for the outing and has excellent claims.

Gosden and Fortune look set for a fruitful afternoon as Expresso Star is an intriguing contender as he makes his handicap bow in the Best Racecourses On TurfTV Handicap.

A beautifully-bred son of War Chant, Expresso Star looked like he was never going to break his maiden after three attempts, with two defeats at short prices.

However, he came good in style at Hamilton last time, winning an admittedly weak event by 18 lengths and earning a mark of 82 in the process.

The handicapper does not look to have been too hard with that rating and Expresso Star is one to keep on the right side.

King's Wonder has been running consistently well of late and can oblige for trainer William Muir in Kempton's TFM Networks Handicap.

He has been plying his trade with some success on both the all-weather and the turf, most recently when finishing a close second at Goodwood last month.

Previously a winner over this course and distance, King's Wonder can defy his rising handicap mark and continue on the upward curve.

Present Gale looked to have a bit left in the tank when winning at Southwell last time and can confirm that impression in the South West Racing Club Handicap Chase at Exeter.

The six-year-old was beaten out of sight by Jim Bobs Girl on his seasonal bow but comprehensively reversed that form when winning on his latest start.

Although only workmanlike, Present Gale's victory was pleasing enough and he looked good value for the two and a half lengths that day.

Present Gale's trainer Jonjo O'Neill could make it a double with Theatrical Moment in the Jewson Novices' Hurdle at Towcester.

Much was expected of this one after he won four bumpers for Alan Swinbank but he has failed to live up to expectations and was comprehensively outclassed at the Punchestown Festival.

But this event is not of that calibre and Theatrical Moment might be able to scrape that elusive first win over obstacles.
