Olympic hero Chris Hoy is ready to get back in the saddle as he prepares to add to his incredible Beijing gold medal haul at the world championships in Poland.

The Edinburgh-born 32-year-old has taken time out since returning from China to celebrate his triple success on the track and promote cycling up and down the country.

Hoy will return to training at the end of next month as he gears up for his next big challenge, the 2009 world championships.

"I'm really, really busy for the next few weeks and then after the end of November, I'll be getting back into training as normal and looking forward to next season," Hoy said.

"I've got the world championships in March, in Poland: that's the next big goal for me."

Hoy won both the sprint and the keirin at the world championships in Manchester in 2008 but - unlike in Beijing - had to settle for silver in the team sprint.

He will hope to rectify that in Poland next year, where he will be looking to add to his nine world championship golds.
