Czech Republic coach Ivan Hasek has called up midfielder Libor Sionko to replace the injured Vaclav Sverkos for the team's final World Cup qualifiers.

The Czechs host Poland on Saturday and Northern Ireland four days later.

They had been one of the group favourites but are in danger of missing out, lying fourth in Group 3, two points behind second-placed Slovenia who are in the play-off spot.

The 32-year-old Sionko, who plays for FC Copenhagen, could make his first national team appearance since April, replacing Sverkos, who is out with a knee injury.
