Derby's number of absentees has forced the club to reassess how it deals with injured players.
Jake Buxton (hernia), Kris Commons (hamstring), Paul Connolly (foot), Dean Leacock (hamstring) and James Vaughan (knee) have a chance of being fit for when the Championship campaign resumes on October 17.
However, Miles Addison (foot), Giles Barnes (Achilles), Steve Davies (ankle), Paul Green (foot), Stephen Pearson (groin) and Chris Porter (hip) will all remain sidelined for the trip to Midlands rivals Leicester.
Rams boss Nigel Clough said: "We will look at the whole process from when a player first gets injured, what we do here and what we do with consultants and specialists.
"We will try to see if there is any way we can improve that in terms of the advice we are getting and the amount of time players are spending out injured. All we can do is look at it and see if there is room for improvement.
"It is difficult because these are experts in their particular field. The injuries have been varied and that is why you can't really pinpoint it to any specific reason."
