Coventry manager Chris Coleman jumped to the defence of teenager Jordan Clarke after he was sent off in Friday's 2-1 defeat to Derby.
The defender received a second yellow card for bringing down Robbie Savage. He had been booked in the first half for mis-timing a challenge on Dean Moxey.
However, despite the red card, City boss Chris Coleman was impressed by Clarke and felt the 17-year-old's dismissal was harsh.
"Jordan Clarke had a very good game," said the Welshman. "He's only a baby out of the academy. He's inexperienced but he coped very well I thought.
"As for the red card. Both players went in. Jordan is already on a yellow card but he's a full-blooded player and a tough defender - he's not a dirty player - and he was never going to pull out of that challenge.
"I'm not going to say I will need to see it again, but what I will say is that we had one referee in the first half and another in the second half."

Yes young Jordan caught Savage in an attempt to play the ball. that isn't the disappointing part. The fact IS that savage rolled around like he'd been shot, made sure the ref was reaching for the card them got up without any injury at all and as usual got involved in the fracas. I'll tell you who is the better for the experience - Jordan Clarke. He will learn. Savage is just a cheap cheat, willing to get a young man sent off just for his own pleasure. A real pro - let;s say Giggs just as an example would have been straight up and asking the ref to let it go...but not brainless Robbie Savage. Just a simple cheat and nothing more. I'd be embarassed to be his team mate.
Fair play to Derby crowd though - gotta say, 28000 most weeks and 18th in the table. That's good support. Better than us unfortunately. Shame you have an imbecile in your team.
Couldnt agree more!! Tha fact that he rolled around on the floor like an idiot made him look like he was the 17 year old straight out of hte academy - not Jordan Clarke.
robbie savage is a f****** b******!
