Premier League - Ferdinand 'received death threat'
QPR called Metropolitan Police after the threat was delivered by post to the club's Loftus Road ground in West London.
The Sun claims the contents of the letter were so graphic that it was not shown to Ferdinand, who has been told to take immediate precautionary measures.
A Met spokesman said: "We confirm we are investigating an allegation of malicious communication."
Terry denies claims he called Ferdinand a "f****** black ****", saying he thought he had been accused of making a racial slur and was clarifying that he had not said it.
Chelsea last week condemned offensive chanting about Ferdinand during their Champions League match away to Genk.
