PARIS (Reuters) - Paris St Germain's impressive away form continued on Sunday when they pulled away from the Ligue 1 relegation zone in with a 1-0 victory at St Etienne.
Paul Le Guen's side, who are the best performing team away from home but are still looking for their first win in Paris in the league this season, climbed to 16th with 22 points from 19 matches.
Striker Peguy Luyindula headed home from a Ceara cross from the right on 52 minutes.
The hosts had the first chances, however, with forward David Gigliotti hitting Mickael Landreau's left post with a 25-metre drive.
Midfielder Geoffrey Dernis also found Landreau's post after 38 minutes with a 33-metre free kick. One minute later, the Paris keeper pulled off a fine save to deny Gigliotti.
Sunday's game between Lens and Lille was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
On Saturday, leaders Olympique Lyon were held to a 1-1 draw at Nancy after a Chris Malonga late goal cancelled out Milan Baros's opener.
Lyon have 39 points from 19 games and lead Nancy by four points going into the mid-season break.
