GLASGOW (Reuters) - Hearts beat Hibernian 1-0 with an Andrius Velicka goal in a fiercely contested Edinburgh derby on Saturday.

The Lithuanian striker headed in the close-range winner in 20 minutes as Hibs' Belgian keeper Yves Ma-Kalambay fumbled the ball just over the line after Christophe Berra nodded Andy Driver's corner across the goal.

Hearts move from second-bottom place in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) to ninth slot with 24 points from 23 games.

Champions Celtic play Kilmarnock later on Saturday while Rangers, who top the SPL standings on 47 points from 20 games, are at Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Sunday.
