Swansea striker Jason Scotland has won the League One Player of the Month award beating Adam Lockwood, Andy Booth and Tommy Mooney.Scotland was in fine form for the Swans in December, netting four goals in just three league games.

He began the month with a brace to earn his side victory against Northampton Town, before netting again in the comprehensive home win over Cheltenham Town on Boxing Day.

A fine individual display against fellow high flyers Leeds United earned his side all three points in the top of the table clash at the Liberty Stadium and ensured the Swans remain the team to beat at the top of League One.

Also short-listed for the December League One award were Lockwood of Doncaster Rovers, Booth of Huddersfield Town and Walsall's Mooney.

Chris Kamara, said: "I know a few clubs looked at signing Jason Scotland while he was still at St Johnstone last season. Roberto Martinez took a chance and brought him to Swansea last summer and that decision has paid dividends in recent weeks. Jason is a strong, quick centre forward with a real eye for goal and is one of the main reasons why The Swans are currently setting the pace in League One."
