Scunthorpe have swooped to sign former Northern Ireland international Kevin Horlock following his release from Doncaster earlier this week. The veteran midfielder had his contract at Doncaster terminated by mutual consent and arrives at Glanford Park on a free transfer until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old endured a frustrating 19 months at Rovers after his release from Ipswich in May 2006.

He was restricted to just 15 appearances, missing most of the 2006/7 campaign due to a knee ligament injury and failing to make a first-team appearance this time around after dislocating a shoulder in pre-season training.

Horlock's former clubs include West Ham, Swindon and Manchester City, who paid £1.25million for him in 1997.
