Sheridan has eye on fourth round

Tue 08 Jan, 11:15 AM

Oldham boss John Sheridan is confident of advancing in the FA Cup after being drawn at home to league rivals Huddersfield in the fourth round. The Latics recorded a famous upset last weekend by beating Barclays Premier League giants Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park with a spectacular goal from Gary McDonald.

Their reward is a home tie against a Terriers side managed by Oldham goalscoring legend and former boss Andy Ritchie.

"The plus side is that we're at home and playing a team we already know a lot about," said Sheridan.

"I heard Andy on the radio this morning and he said he wanted to avoid Oldham, but both sides will be feeling they can win and get through to the next round.

"Everyone's looking for big games against Premier League sides, but this is a tie I believe we can win. It'll be a good, close tie, but I'm confident we can get through."
