Walsall made it 17 games without defeat as a thoroughly professional performance in atrocious conditions earned them a 2-0 win at Yeovil. The Saddlers defended heroically against gale-force winds and driving rain in a goalless first half - so bad that one of goalkeeper Clayton Ince's clearances flew back for a corner.
In the second half it was their turn to push forward although with conditions abating Yeovil did their fair share of attacking without producing the final touch.
The Saddlers brought on Richard Taundry for the injured Michael Ricketts in the 57th minute and with his first touch he set up the opening goal as a free-kick 30-yards out was back-headed by Scott Dann past goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall.
Walsall were beginning to find more space against a tiring Yeovil defence and in the 64th minute Alex Nicholls got clear on the left and cut inside to fire past Mildenhall from just inside the box and seal the win.
