Colchester manager Geraint Williams has confirmed he is still chasing Luton captain Chris Coyne after seeing an initial £300,000 bid rejected.The Us' first offer was turned down by the Hatters last week, but Williams remains hopeful of luring the centre-half to Layer Road.

"We are still attempting to sign Chris Coyne," he said.

"I'm trying to sign new players, but so are all clubs from all the divisions."

Luton's chances of holding on to their prized assets have increased after they earned a lucrative FA Cup third-round replay at Liverpool.
