Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has revealed that the Italian champions are looking to bring Atletico Madrid midfielder Maniche to Milan.
Portugal international Maniche, 30, has recently lost his place in an Atleti midfield line-up also boasting Raul Garcia, Maxi Rodriguez, Simao Sabrosa, Luis Garcia and Jose Ant0nio Reyes.
"Maniche? I do not know yet because we are yet to sort out a deal," Moratti told Sky Italia. "We have a meeting with Atletico on Wednesday."
Maniche previously featured for Chelsea on loan and opted for the Vicente Calderon in the summer from club Dynamo Moscow.
A move to the Giuseppe Meazza would most likely be temporary until the end of the season, at least to begin with.
The Serie A leaders have midfield men Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo and Dejan Stankovic injured at present, but still boast Esteban Cambiasso, Olivier Dacourt, Santiago Solari and Pélé in their squad - as well as players such as Cristian Chivu who can play in the middle of the park.
The Nerazzurri defeated city rivals Milan before Christmas and are seven points clear of nearest contenders Roma after 17 league matches.
