Kevin Ellison's proposed move from Chester to Stockport has broken down after both clubs confirmed on Friday that the deal is now off.A fee had been agreed between the two clubs and the 28-year-old winger was set to join County on loan until the summer when a permanent deal could then be struck.
"At this point in time the move has broken down and it doesn't look as though it will be resurrected," said a spokesman for Stockport.
Chester's club secretary, Tony Allan, also confirmed that Ellison would remain with the Blues for the foreseeable future.
"Kevin Ellison was brought in to do a job for Chester City and obviously there was interest shown in the player but the move hasn't come to fruition and we're happy to have him at the club," said Allan
Allan also confirmed Stephen Vaughan has re-joined the club.
