The Colorado Rapids have bolstered their squad ahead of the new season by completing the signing of former MVP Christian Gomez from DC United.Financial terms were not disclosed but the Rapids traded a first-round draft pick and future considerations to acquire the 33-year-old Argentinian.
"Christian is one of the biggest signings in the 13-year history of the Colorado Rapids," Rapids manager director Jeff Plush said.
"When combined with Pablo Mastroeni, he gives us one of the best centre midfield duos in the league."
Gomez, the 2006 MVP, has 39 goals and 29 assists from midfield in 97 career MLS games, all with United.
