Carlisle winger Cleveland Taylor is expected to recover from a bout of fatigue in time to face rock-bottom side Port Vale on Saturday.Taylor, who signed from Scunthorpe last week, made his first appearance in over a month in last weekend's 2-1 win over Walsall, but was still feeling the effects of a recent virus and lasted 66 minutes on his debut.
But boss John Ward is keen for the 24-year-old to improve his match fitness and he should feature at Vale Park as the Blues go in search of a first away win since the 1-0 victory at Southend at the end of October.
Captain Paul Thirlwell came unscathed through a 5-1 reserve-team win over Preston in midweek as he battles back from his latest calf injury and the midfielder could be a surprise inclusion in the matchday squad.
Striker Danny Carlton netted a hat-trick against North End's second string to bolster his claims for a senior start while defender Paul Arnison, who was handed a rare start under Ward against the Saddlers, should continue in the side.
