Two men have been jailed for leaving a live grenade outside the home of former Liverpool player and manager Kenny Dalglish.
The hand grenade was found outside the former Scottish international's house in Southport, Merseyside last July but Dalglish was not the intended target or indeed in the house at the time.
Carl Higgins, 29, was jailed for five years and Simon Lewis Ignacio, 28, was sentenced to four-and-a-half years over the planned attack which was intended for a local businessman to pressure him into not giving evidence in a separate court case against the men
Another man, Mark Johnston, 21, will be sentenced on February 26.
Nobody was injured in the attack but an army bomb disposal team was called in to remove the device.

kactyork - Ironic, eh? You live in the south & take you kid to watch liverpool once a year and yet you are mocking the united fans for not being local!? Did you not see the sense of hypocrisy when you wrote your comments? Or are you a typical liverfool fan that doesn't realise that there are more liverpoo fans in scandinavia then there are people in the north because of liverpool's success in the 80's? But no one mentions that because loserpool try to put on a local, people's club image whereas they like to make United out as a International, money grabbing business club with lots of foreign fans! Simply put, liverpoo - still have small club mentality, united - big club!
DARTH VADER...Well said..
It was meant for the togo team bus..
man united 'fans' on eurosport are an absolute joke, 9 out of 10 comments are things you would expect from an eight year old
Sorry - Liverpool. Only joking. Loved the Mersey derby on Saturday. Proper football with lots of bite. Also - my lad is a Koppite, He might live in the south but he goes to Anfield once a year or so when I can get a ticket. Best atmosphere ( and no Didsbury prawn sandwiches there either ) in the land and at least the fans sound like there are locals. Unlike the crowd at Old Trafford.
Hey Nigel no 15 - knowing the Scousers - they probably took the pin out then decided to nick the grenade and leave the pin behind . Going to jail won't be a problem though - isn't Liverpool Europe's largest open prison anyway. ?
' It could be worse
You could be scouse
Eating rats in a council house........'
king kenny what a joke ,, dont scousers know you need to remove the pin not just leave it there, it would probably get stolen in liverpool anyway.
Tell you what David, why don't you print those comments in a newspaper and we can all piss ourselves when he sues your a.rse...and when you are sleeping on the street in your cardboard box, i will come over and pi.ss on you to keep you warm.

What apart from the fact that the grenade was left at his house?????
Bet Stevie G has something to do with it, After all wasn't his court case last year you know the one where 12 liverpool supporters were picked to be the jury at his trial, you know the trial that proved money and fame can get you away with pretty much get you away with anything.
