view photoLONDON (Reuters) - Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton appeared in Liverpool Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with assault and affray.
Barton, 25, his 19-year-old brother Andrew and a 27-year-old woman were arrested in the early hours of Dec 27 after an incident outside a Liverpool restaurant.
The three were bailed to appear in Liverpool Crown Court on April 23.
