Sat 08 Mar, 05:30 PM

Queen of the South booked their place in the Scottish Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 win over Dundee, while St Johnstone and St Mirren drew 1-1.Stephen Dobbie opened the scoring for the Palmerston Park hosts on 52 minutes, before Neil MacFarlane wrapped the game up in stoppage time.

The victory stretches the Doonhamers' unbeaten run to 10 matches and gives them a great chance of reaching their first ever Scottish Cup final.

Defeat for Dundee saw their run of four wins in a row come to a grinding halt and is the third time they have tasted defeat against Queen of the South in four meetings this season.

St Johnstone and St Mirren will need a replay to decide who makes the last four after they ground out a 1-1 draw at McDiarmid Park.

The Scottish First Division side took the lead through on-loan midfielder Liam Craig on 32 minutes.

Goran Stanic was felled in the box and Craig calmly stepped up to dispatch the penalty.

Craig proved to be Saints' hero in the previous round, but Andy Dorman, who himself grabbed a winner to get St Mirren to this stage, levelled things up for the visitors on 73 minutes.

The draw stretches the Buddies' winless run to eight games as they also continue to struggle at the wrong end of the SPL.
