Harry Redknapp claimed Portsmouth knocked Manchester United of the FA Cup because they stuck to their gameplan at Old Trafford.Pompey won 1-0 in Saturday's quarter-final thanks to Sulley Muntari's penalty after Tomasz Kuszczak was penalised for bringing down Milan Baros, with the goalkeeper earning a red card.
Redknapp declared on Sky Sports: "It's fantastic. To come here today it was the worst draw of the lot.
"It was a great performance. We worked, we had a plan and we stuck with it.
"You always have to ride your luck, they are a fantastic team. They are different class. We deserved our luck."
Redknapp also saluted the result which he dedicated to the club's fans.
"It's a great day, great for the fans, I am delighted for them."
United had efforts from Carlos Tevez and Michael Carrick cleared off the line as Portsmouth were forced to defend resolutely.
Pompey goalkeeper David James admitted his side had done well to keep United at bay.
He said: "We rode our luck a little bit. It was a great effort.''
Sol Campbell paid tribute to United, who had made it difficult for the visitors.
He said: "They are a great side. They kept on getting behind and getting in crosses so we really had to defend."
