Onuora: We deserved the thrashing

Sat 08 Mar, 08:00 PM

Lincoln assistant manager Iffy Onuora was left ruing his side's lost chances as he saw them lose 4-1 away against in-form Chesterfield. He was left frustrated after seeing his side lose for only the second time in eight games, leaving them in 14th place in League Two.

Onuora said: "The scoreline doesn't tell too many lies. We were second best, not all of us, but I thought we were poor.

"It's been too easy for them to score. The lads at the back had to defend too much."

Lincoln had to make an early change when influential midfielder Lenell John-Lewis went off and Onuora admitted: "He's been in really good form for us.

"He's got a great attitude and work rate and we missed that dynamism but the other players on the pitch should have done well enough to make up for that."
