Carrington: Crewe can stay up

Tue 08 Apr, 12:15 PM

Defender Mark Carrington insists the Crewe dressing room remains "confident" they will avoid the drop despite their 3-1 defeat to Southend. That result at the weekend left the Railwaymen perilously poised just a place above the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference.

But Carrington, who impressed as a substitute following a nasty injury to Danny Woodards, believes The Alex can pick up points from each of their four remaining games and retain their League One status.

He told the club's official website: "The lads are still confident that we can avoid relegation.

"We think we are good enough to get points out of all of our remaining four matches.

"We have got to be positive and put Saturday's result and first-half performance behind us as quickly as possible."
