De Canio heaps praise on Blackstock

Tue 08 Apr, 06:15 PM

QPR boss Luigi De Canio is hoping the floodgates have opened for Dexter Blackstock following his goal against Preston on Saturday.Blackstock had not scored in 13 games until finding the net at Wolves a fortnight ago, but he made it two in three games when he popped up with a last-gasp equaliser to earn Rangers a 2-2 draw at Loftus Road.

Blackstock's goals will be all the more important to Rangers after Rowan Vine suffered a broken leg, but De Canio insists he has been happy with the former Southampton strikers input.

"Obviously I hope that goal will bring some more - now he is playing with some continuity he has opportunities to score," said De Canio.

"But regardless of his goalscoring tally, I am very happy with his performances."
