Grayson: Survival would be huge

Tue 08 Apr, 03:30 PM

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson believes keeping the Seasiders in the Championship would be as big an achievement as winning promotion last term. With five matches remaining, one more victory could all but secure another season's in the second tier of English football given their superior goal difference.

Having won last season's League One play-off final against Yeovil to gain promotion, Grayson would be ecstatic to see his side survive their battle with the Championship heavyweights.

He told the Blackpool Gazette: "To survive in this league, against the so-called big hitters with their big budgets, would be a fantastic achievement.

"I took great delight in our promotion and I'll be just as delighted if we stay up."
