Sandwith relishing Blues chance

Tue 08 Apr, 03:30 PM

Kevin Sandwith is relieved to have been given an extended run in the Chester first team after what he has described as a "frustrating" season. The midfielder, whose contract expires in the summer, found himself out of favour with former manager Bobby Williamson but has now regained his place in the centre of midfield under new boss Simon Davies.

He told the Evening Leader: "I'm enjoying my central midfield role, but it's just nice to be playing at the moment.

"It's been a frustrating season to be honest, so anywhere I play at the moment I'm happy with. Hopefully I can start again on Saturday at home to Lincoln, but we'll see how things go throughout this week.

"I just want to play in every game from now until the end of the season."
