Headline of the day...
CITY GO FOR JOSE
Manchester City have either got their new manager or are closing in on someone else, depending on which newspaper you happen to read. If you read the Daily Express (though, to be honest, why would you?) you'll know that Harry Harris reckons that Thaksin Shinawatra has approached Jose Mourinho through his agent Jose Mendez

PHIL GETS CITY JOB
However, if you read the Daily Mirror you'll know that Big Phil Scolari has 'agreeed to become the new manager of Manchester City'. Apparently Scolari was at the Chelsea game on Wednesday meeting with Pini Zahavi and discussing a job. You might assume that it would be the Chelsea job, but the Mirror reckon it was City.
ERIKSSON TALKS CITY PLAYERS OUT OF STRIKE
In The Guardian, they say that Sven Goran Eriksson has talked his players out boycotting the club's end of season tour of Thailand in support of their soon-to-be-sacked manager.
GRANT CONFRONTS HORRORS OF PAST
In the Daily Telegraph, Avram Grant talks about the Holocaust on his visit to Auschwitz: "I have lived in the shadow of Auschwitz all my life. It's a shadow which my father dragged all his life with him. Today I lead a team like Chelsea, 65 years after those horrors ended, and I feel this is my personal triumph."
GRANT STILL IN LINE OF FIRE DESPITE HIS ADVANCE ON MOSCOW
However, The Times say that his position at the club is still very much in doubt even though Chelsea are level on points at the top of the table and in the Champions League Final.
AV A HEART ROM
John Terry says in The Sun that Grant should be allowed to stay: "I would have thought getting to the final is enough to keep him in a job."
YOU'LL AV TO WAIT
The Daily Star say that Grant's pleas for showdown talks with Roman Abramovich have been met with little encouragement, with the Russian staying at home for the presidential elections.
HAMMERED!
Perhaps that is why he's got so hot and bothered by Alan Curbishley's recent newspaper column about how much he wants Man United to win the league, and the Daily Mail say that Grant will use his press conference today to put the West Ham boss under pressure ahead of their match against United tomorrow.
ANELKO
Meanwhile, The Sun say that Nicolas Anelka will be unable to take part in Chelsea's final game of the league season against Bolton because he originally signed from them on loan in January (in order for the move to be completed in time for a game the following day) before making it permanent a few days later.
