Thu 08 May, 12:45 PM

Leyton Orient are hopeful that Wayne Gray will not require surgery on the knee injury he sustained during Saturday's win over Bristol Rovers. The 27-year-old striker scored against the Pirates before being forced off at half-time with the knock.

Scans have revealed a strained medial ligament, but it is unclear whether Gray will have to go under the knife to repair his cruciate ligament.

Manager Martin Ling told the club's official website: "The scans showed damage to the medial ligament, but they were inconclusive on the cruciate.

"We hope that it won't require surgery, but Wayne no faces an anxious wait to find out."
