Thu 08 May, 03:15 PM

MK Dons striker Aaron Wilbraham wishes the season did not have to end after finishing the campaign with seven goals in his last six games. The 28-year-old's form towards the end of the season was key in helping fire Paul Ince's side to the League Two title.

Wilbraham told the club's official website: "I didn't really want the season to end, things were going well on the scoring front and I was really enjoying it.

"I'm looking forward to going away and refreshing the batteries with a good summer, but it would have been nice to carry on."

Wilbraham also said that despite winning the title and Johnstone's Paint Trophy this season, all thoughts of the double will be forgotten when the team report for pre-season.

He added: "I think all that will be forgotten when we come back, it'll all be about looking forward to the fixtures that will have just come out in League One."
