Tough weekend for JAG man.

JAG man in the wars at Donington.

John George endured a frustrating weekend after two sizeable accidents during the latest rounds of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park.

The TH Motorsport with JAG Racing man suffered an accident during qualifying at the East Midlands venue that left the team to rebuild the rear suspension on George's Honda Integra after contact with Michael Doyle.

Starting from 24th on the grid as a result for race one, George saw his race day come to an early end when he ran wide out of the Old Hairpin on lap two in a move that would normally have simply cost him positions.

However, the BMW of Rob Collard had already spun onto the grass and George made heavy contact with the Motorbase Performance man, ripping the left rear wheel off the Honda and also causing severe damage to the suspension once again.

Having decided that the car couldn't be repaired safely, the decision was taken to withdraw the car from the remainder of the weekend and turn focus to the next round at Thruxton later this month.

"I'm obviously disappointed, but there are a lot of positives to take away," he said. "The start was good, the car was running really well, despite our accident on Saturday. The team is working brilliantly together and we're all feeling positive about Thruxton in two weeks' time."
