Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta has been ruled out of action until the summer with a thigh problem.
The Italy international underwent a sonogram which showed his injury is healing well, but he will not play again this season as Juve have nothing left to play for.
The Old Lady have secured Champions League football next season with a third place finish and with just two games remaining they can neither fall to fourth or improve on third.
Instead Iaquinta will rest in the hope he can recover in time to feature for Italy at this summer's Euro 2008 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
The Azzurri have been informed of the situation, which may yet open the door to a recall for Iaquinta's club team-mate Alessandro Del Piero.
Iaquinta has netted eight times for Juventus this season, mostly in a reserve striker role behind Del Piero - who has scored 18 - and Frenchman David Trezeguet.
