SYDNEY (Reuters) - The annual congress of football's world governing body FIFA on Friday voted in favour of the objectives of president Sepp Blatter's plans to limit the number of foreigners who can play for club teams.

The congress voted 155-5 in favour of the objectives of Blatter's so-called "6+5" rule which will limit the number of foreign players who can start a match to five.

Blatter, and his European counterpart Michel Platini, were asked to continue to explore "all possible means within the limits of the law" to ensure the foreign quotas can be implemented.
