World Touring Car Championship star Jordi Gene said his team could have won their category in the 12 Hours race at Spa-Francorchamps at the weekend, but was happy nonetheless.
Gene shared a SEAT Leon with former Formula One world champion Jacques Villeneuve and Belgian touring car specialist Pierre-Yves Corthals.
The race, which counted towards the Belgian touring car series, was won by Nicolas de Crem, Julien Schroyen and Marc Goossens in an Audi A4 Silhouette, while the SEAT crossed the line in 28th after electrical problems and a gearbox failure.
"I think we could have won our category, but in an endurance race there are bound to be problems," Gene said.
"The pace of the competition was good and I'm happy to have been able to lend my support to SEAT Belgium in this special race."
Jacques Villeneuve commented: "It was a magnificent experience. The car was very competitive and we drove at an excellent pace.
"The atmosphere was great during the weekend and Jordi and Pierre Yves were fantastic team-mates."
