Hull City are close to signing striker Fraizer Campbell from Manchester United after having an offer accepted by the Premier League champions.
"The club can confirm that it has had an offer accepted by Manchester United for Fraizer Campbell," Hull said.
"Consequently the club has been given permission to begin talks."
The fee is thought to be around £6 million.
England U21 international Campbell made a big impact at Hull during the 2007-08 season, helping them to promotion to the Premier League while on loan from United.
He spent last season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur as part of the deal that took Dimitar Berbatov from Spurs to United.

Great in the championship but unproven in the premiership.Hope he can cut it and doesnt turn out to be another David Nugent.@#$% on u Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!
elnino and cameron w -Once again you glory in your ignorance of football. Likely you have never seen Campbell play but I know a big club will be signing him in a year or so at huge profit to Hull City. Great signing for the Tigers. If Bullard ever gets fit, it is this kind of player that can help us maintain Premier League status.
Come on you ULLLLLLLLLLLLLL
How can anyone say he is a Championship player when he is under contract to ManU , played for Tottenham las season and if he signs for Hull, a club he help gain promotion, will still be in the EPL!
He's a Championship player so one for the future for Hull!
bmepainolympian.....what the hell??? I mean really, what the hell?? LMFAO
I think Fraizer is a huge potential but i believe we have some other young strikers. Hope we don't go looking for this guy in future with big money though.
bmepainolympian - quality haha you need help my friend
bmepainolympian - Did you just come out of a coma mate? Very acute and interesting read though.

Shame for the lad not to be given a chance at United. He was doing not too badly at Spurs until Redknapp came in - he never gave him any games. If he'd have had the games, I'm sure he would have impressed and possibly given a chance here next season.
Looks like SAF rates Welbeck and Macheda over him, though. Hope he does well at Hull, I know the fans there love him.
campbell is useless! i hate fergie but i take my hat off to him for getting 6 million for a player i would sack!
better than berbatov!
The smart money will be on him getting no goals whatsover as Hull slide out of the Prem with the lowest points total ever.
and he bmepainolympian has 2 thumbs up!
bmepainolympian, what the heck??
bmepainolympian wat are u smokin m8 some of that @#$% plz....ally mcCoist united manager???michael owen middlesbourgh??i think uve lost the plot son but sure here keep ur comments comin im gettin a good laugh anyway.lol.
''4 world-class goalkeepers''?? What league are you watching?
Manchester United are losing out on one of the best strikers in the world here. Their manager, Ally McCoist must be going mad in his old age. If he buys Michael Owen from relegated Middlesbrough on a cut-deal it would make sense but they've already got 4 world-class goalkeepers already. He'll have to offload Nigel Spink or Ian Walker but I'm not sure if any premier league teams could afford the hefty price tag. I feel this transfer could be a terrible "own-goal" for Utd.
good player very welcome addition still need some better defenders midfielders and goaly lol or n another striker torres would b nice
good shout sergio!
