Ezequiel Lavezzi's advisors have urged Napoli not to deny the player a move to Liverpool.
The Merseysiders have reportedly enquired about the Argentina striker only to see their advances rebuffed as Napoli look to cling on to the 24-year-old, who is under contract until June 2013.
"Liverpool's proposal is true," said Lavezzi's advisor Eduardo Rossetto. "(Napoli general director Pierpaolo) Marino has met twice with FIFA agent Pablo Cosentino, who has invited him to set up a meeting in Liverpool or in Naples with the English outfit."
Rossetto added: "Ezequiel has tried several times to speak to Marino but he has received no response.
"If Napoli have decided to take this extreme position, so will we.
"We don't want to force Napoli to sell the player but I think it is correct for the club just to consider the offer, to judge it whether it's sufficient or not."
Lavezzi, who joined Napoli in the summer of 2007, scored seven goals for the Serie A club in the recently-completed season.

del boy, people have there own opinions about players, i`ve no problem with that. that`s what these articals are about. but you and other people slagging off rafa`s targets without knowing what the players are like.
in 2005 liverpool had a team in istanbul that won the champions league, against ac milan. beating the likes of chelsea, juventus, barcelona, etc. and do you know what team played in that tournament that season?

all these players have got champions league winners medals. where are chelsea`s and madrids world class players medals?.
he had the players playing the way he wanted to. you don`t need 11 world class multi million pounds players do you? just the right player for the right position.
watch out prem next season all we here is liverpool crisis nothing has changed all this was common knowledge before last week we missed out last year by only 4 pts because we had a run of to many draws all i hear is what if gerrard or torres gets injured well 1 or the other or both were fo most of last season if man utd had rooney and ronaldo out for the same amount of time last year they would have probably dropped a few more points yes the have a stong squad but the reason liverpool rely on g and t is the same as why man utd rely on ron and roon bcus there the best players watch out for insua he will flourish this coming season as for deggen just go home ur never going to be fit anyway

I don't think Manchester United have ever been running scarred. They are the current premier league champions, not second to someone else but the champions. I for one can not wait for next season to start, just to see the scouse muppets faces when as usual Liverpool either bottle it or blow it. If Beneathus is such a good manager how come Liverpool have not won anything for years. Mmmmm not just an interesting question but a FACT. LFC = YAWN. More words of wisdom from the Mmmmmmm0000000se. I Thank You.
at least watch him play before making judgement. geesh! the lad's a f.ucking monster. just what we need on the wing. just as good as tevez but cheaper, taller and more versatile.
just look at this fella on youtube..how many defenders does he tie in knots? lol .very skillful, fast as f**k...if we just got this fella, judging by the clips, this lad WILL give defences the @#$%s, him & torres up front? haha...c'mon Napoli let him go!!!
YES! Torres could have been an AC Milan player had he not chosen L'pool. A huge name. Mascherano too was already an established Argentinian international. Liverpool were VERY lucky to sign those two. They could both have been part of much bigger clubs. In fact, they still could be...
LFC Real Euro Legends, don't turn this into a civil war between fans just because different people have different opinions. I've supported Liverpool all my 34 years and have no intention of supporting Man City now. I just dont want us to buy more medicore @#$% like this Argentine. And your insistence we need to build the squad doesnt add up. What we need, all we need, is 1 or 2 more top class players and we are Utd's standard.
Reina van der Sar
Utd's defence ours
Alonso Carrick
Masch Hargreaves, Scholes, Anderson or Fletcher
Riera = Giggs of 2009
Ronaldo Kuyt
Gerrard Rooney
Torres Berbatov / Tevez
rafa is a good maneger, goes for the so called average players and gets them to the top. liverpool must not buy stars but should breed stars. was fernando that well known b4 he came to liverpool, look masch, alonso, skertel, agger. they just become targets of those so called big spenders.
lfc need someone to kill a game off and stop all these draws- they're nearly there- way ahead of the other prem sides- if torres had been fit last season we would have turned at least half these draws into wins and walked the league- we don't need lots of expensive signings- we've got the best team- but we do need another goal-scorer to back up torres- my choice would be tevez or david villa- and we need to bring young players thru from the academy- and abroad- but young players who really wanna play for lfc- not expensive players in mid or late career- who may be overpriced. all lfc fans are great people.
Just one word when it comes to italian signings - DOSSENA - nuff said!!
rafa must be a stupid manager. there is tevez £25m-£30m, david villa £30m - £40m, eto`o £20m -£30m, david silva £20m-£25m, hey lets go for ribery as well another £40m-£60m any one else that you so called liverpool fans think rafa needs to go for?.
don`t you think rafa would love these players at anfield?. get of your armchairs and get in the real world.
rafa needs to build a bigger squad, not buy 2 or 3 players that will cost him £50m-£70m.
he needs possibly about 5 players to make the squad bigger. he might buy someone like silva for £15m - £20m or the likes of tevez £25m. but he then needs to get 3 or 4 players for around the £5m price. they may not be world class players but they may do the job that rafa needs them to do.
so as there is only 8 days gone into the transfer side of the season and we are being linked to players that aren`t renowned through out the world, maybe if your not happy, go and support glory hunters man city
if your want world stars signing for them, or give rafa a break and back him like real liverpool surporters do.
If he was any god he'd have more than two caps at full international level by the time he was 24. I also doubt a man whose nickname is "the chubby one" has the fitness to do well in the Prem.
Great to see the handful of stars we need linked with everyone else whilst we continue to shop for the next Bellamy / Gonzales / Leto.
Rafa, stop this nonsense now!
Sounds like another waste of time to me...
10* u got a point there. we must stay and believe on Rafa. He knows what he's doing. i'm sure liverpool next season will done better than what there are. i watch lavezzi on Youtube, he is GOOD in a wing position. give him a chance to play for reds shirt. what NUMBER he might be?? any1? for my suggestion, he might be getting number 7. YNWA
WE NEED ONE OR TWO NEW PLAYERS IN WE WILL BE OK IF WE DO NOT DRAW MORE THAN 6 GAMES LAST SEASON LIVERPOOL WHERE GREAT 77 GOALS 86 PTS BENITEZ HAS TO KEEP ALONS AND MASCHERANO LIVERPOOL WILL WIN THE LEAGUE NEXT SEASON YNWA YNWA YNWA
