Gillingham first-team coach Mark Robson is expected to sign a deal to keep him at the club next season over the coming days.
Robson joined Mark Stimson's backroom staff on a temporary basis last summer while looking for a management job.
And while that remains an ambition for the former West Ham and Charlton midfielder, Stimson is confident of tying up a deal to keep him at Priestfield.
The Gills boss told Kent News: "I'm sure it will be okay because we've spoken as the season has gone on and I'd hope to tie that up this week some time.
"I've made a lot of signings and Mark's up there with most of them. Working with my assistant Scott Barrett he has been a big plus."
