Hartlepool manager Chris Turner has scotched reports that Norway international midfielder Magne Hoseth is close to signing for the club.

The 28-year-old Molde playmaker was strongly linked with a switch to Victoria Park over the weekend, but Turner is puzzled as to where the story has come from.

He told the club`s official website: "We're looking at all markets both home and abroad to try and improve our squad.

"But I can categorically rule out the signing of Magne Hoseth because he simply is not on our radar.

"We want to bring good players to the football club but I think we have to be realistic about the ones we target."
