Auxerre defender Cedric Hengbart could be heading for the Premier League after making the claim that Stoke, Blackburn and QPR are after him.

Blackburn and Wigan have also been linked with the player, who is in the final year of his deal at the Ligue 1 club.

"I have contacts in England," said Hengbart.

"Stoke and Blackburn are the most serious ones, and there's also QPR to a slightly less degree."

Hengbart, 30, also claims Bundesliga clubs are interested, but would prefer to head for England.

He said: "Werder Bremen and Hannover have also been in touch. But Germany is my third priority behind England and France."
