Bradford's joint chairman Julian Rhodes admits the club has increased its wage bill for the new season in a bid to ensure promotion. And Rhodes has also hailed manager Stuart McCall for attracting quality players to the club.
He said: "Stuart's possibly been the deciding factor for all the lads that have chosen to come here. His enthusiasm for the job is infectious."
Rhodes added: "It's a good year to have a go. If you look at League Two next season, there are no big spenders and there's the possibility of three clubs starting on at least minus 15 points.
"We told Stuart we would up the budget and he wanted to look at players from the top half of League One because financially we could match other clubs."
McCall has so far persuaded Chris Brandon, Paul Arnison, Graeme Lee and Paul McLaren to step down from League One, while a striker and a goalkeeper remain on his shopping list.
