Eagles withdraw Morrison offer

Tue 08 Jul, 12:45 PM

Crystal Palace have withdrawn their contract offer to Clinton Morrison to all but signal the end of the striker's Selhurst Park career.Morrison has been a free agent since the start of July and has not returned to the club for pre-season training.

The Republic of Ireland international was offered a new two-year contract by Eagles manager Neil Warnock after top-scoring with 16 goals last season - including his 100th strike for the club.

But Warnock is no longer waiting for an answer and 29-year-old Morrison, who has been linked with QPR and Coventry, is poised to continue his career away from south London.

"Clinton has not accepted our offer so it's no longer on the table. I assume he must have found himself a new club," Warnock told the South London Press.

Warnock has been strongly linked with a move for Hearts frontman Christian Nade.
