Stockport County have signed goalkeeper Owain fon Williams after his contract at League One rivals Crewe Alexandra expired.County are negotiating a fee for the 21-year-old with the Railwaymen, but if no agreement is reached a tribunal will decide the figure.

Williams had yet to feature for Crewe's first team but has played for Wales' Under-21s and is a good friend of Wales' number one and former County loanee Wayne Hennessey.

He told Stockport's official website: "I've spoken to Wayne a lot about County, and he told me that if an opportunity arose to join them I shouldn't hesitate."
