Premier League trio Anderson (Manchester United), Lucas (Liverpool) and Jo (Man City) have all been named in Brazil's 18-man Olympic squad. All three are named as regular Under-23 players and therefore clubs cannot refuse to release them for the tournament, which runs from August 6-23.
Also in the squad are outgoing Barcelona forward Ronaldinho and Real Madrid's Robinho.
AC Milan playmaker Kaka will not travel to Beijing after his club refused Brazil's request. Roma defender Juan was also unavailable.
Therefore defender Thiago Silva, who helped Fluminense claim runners-up honours in this year's Copa Libertadores', is named as the third over-aged player in the team.
However, Milan were forced to release Alexandre Pato as he is under 23.
Brazil, who have been drawn in Group C alongside Belgium, New Zealand and hosts China, have never won Olympic gold.
"We called-up three full-backs, three centre-backs and three midfielders," said coach Dunga. "From midfield onwards, there is more diversity, as I was worried about picking up skilful, fast players with presence in the box so we can profit from high balls."
Brazil Olympic squad: Diego Alves (Almeria), Renan (Internacional); Breno (Bayern Munich), Alex Silva (Sao Paulo), Thiago Silva (Fluminense), Rafinha (Schalke 04), Ilsinho (Shakhtar Donetsk), Marcelo (Real Madrid); Anderson (Manchester United), Lucas (Liverpool), Ronaldinho (Barcelona), Diego (Werder Bremen), Hernanes (Sao Paulo), Thiago Neves (Fluminense); Alexandre Pato (Milan), Jo (Manchester City), Rafael Sobis (Betis), Robinho (Real Madrid).
