New Leeds United striker Enoch Showunmi has revealed he was not ready to join the Whites when the chance first arose back in January.The 26-year-old, who this week signed a two-year deal at Elland Road, opted for a loan move to Sheffield Wednesday instead of Leeds last season and made 10 appearances for the Owls.

Showunmi said: "At that time a lot of things were said that hadn't actually happened and things happened behind my back at Bristol.

"It wasn't a move I was ready to make at the time, but now the lure of Leeds has brought me here.

"You only have to look at the fanbase, the players of the past, and it's only seven years since the club was in the Champions League.

"It's a Premier League club and it's a massive challenge. I had a walk around on Tuesday and it's a great set-up. It's a massive club and I'm looking forward to the challenge."
