Romania international defender Gabriel Tamas is keen on a move to Celtic, according to his agent.
The 24-year-old Auxerre stopper has reportedly been targeted by the Scottish champions after an impressive 2008 European Championships.
Agent Cristian Morosan told the Scottish Sun his client would welcome a move to Scotland if both clubs could agree a fee.
He said: "Celtic approached me at the end of the European Championships to tell me they were interested in signing Gabriel.
"They aren't the only club who want him. He has options in England, Spain and Romania.
"But a move to Celtic certainly holds strong appeal to Gabriel.
"He knows they are a massive club who play in the Champions League every year.
"They have a vast support and on a sporting level would be a big step up for Gabriel.
"He wants to leave Auxerre this summer. He has made that clear.
"It's not down to Gabriel or me though. Right now we have to wait to see if Celtic can reach an agreement with Auxerre.
"If that happens we will be more than happy to sit down with Celtic and try to make this move work."
