Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock has wiped the slate clean following last season's flirt with relegation and insists there will be no excuses for another struggle.
The long-running takeover saga at Home Park is finally over and Sturrock is looking forward to putting the off-field distractions behind him and concentrating on the football.
"Last season really hurt me because it was the first year when I've lost more games than I've won. I don't like that," he told the Herald.
"There were things I did last year that weren`' me - things I had to do because of the situation we were in.
"A lot of things that I bit my lip on would have left blood running down the side of my mouth. I'm making sure that this year none of that will happen."

I'm not a Luggy admirer, but, he is the boss and all I want is a committed performance from a team i was born to love. While Sturrock is in charge I and I hope the rest of the green army will be behind him and the team all the way. Lets just get a season where we are not worrying until the end.
Good luck to all the squad and staff and LETS BRING IT ON!!!!!!
See you all at selhurst.
fair play Mr Sturrock, as a season ticket holder all i want to see is 11 players giving 110% for the greens. Heres to a relegation threatened free season
