Rochdale chairman Chris Dunphy admits he is open to the idea of groundsharing with Oldham in a new stadium halfway between the two towns.
Latics co-owner Simon Corney has publicly expressed his desire to build a new ground and would like to share it with a neighbouring club because he believes it makes financial sense.
Dale have hinted at their interest in the project by issuing a statement which said: "Rochdale chairman Chris Dunphy was approached by Simon Corney over the possibility of sharing a new ground to be situated between the two current sites.
"Whilst we are not discarding the possibility of this move, this is as far as negotiations have gone so far.
"We would certainly like to look into the idea further, but at the moment things are still at the earliest possible stage."

And where would the Hornets go? They certainly can't afford to buy Spotland, so they would probably want to churn up the new stadium for Dale and Latics.
what would they call the new shed....sorry stadia?????
Two football teams might be less wear on the pitch than sharing with a rugby club, ask Stockport fans about the Edgeley Park 'sand dunes' since they've shared with Sale!
how far is this going to go. its probably better than sharing a ground with a rugby team who have bitched ever since they are at their lowest level they have ever been. they are dragging the sport in the town with little ambition, no money,no support etc. etc.....sorry hornets!!!!
