Reuters - Thu, 08 Jul 20:16:00 2010

Brazilian Bruno Senna has been dropped by his HRT Formula One team for Sunday's British Grand Prix.

"The drivers are (Sakon) Yamamoto and (Karun) Chandhok," team principial Colin Kolles said.

A spokeswoman for FIA confirmed that Japanese reserve driver Yamamoto and India's Chandhok have been entered as race drivers for the weekend.

Kolles would not say why Senna, nephew of late triple champion Ayrton, had been dropped but said a statement would be issued on Friday morning.

  6. Misterb, thanks for calling me an idiot.
You are right about everything you say about Bruno.
I only meant to say that a beginning team like HRT should not make such mistakes.
The only reason they had some tv atraction, wich means exposure and advertising income, was becouse of the name Senna in their team. Bruno isn't his uncle, he will never be, no one can reach his status. I perfectly understand they want to lure Honda in to their team and that's longterm thinking but for this season they might as well drop it now that they have no more atraction to the tv broadcasters.
Friendly greetings misterb, from an idiot who loves this sport so mush that he can stand seeing his team losing as the others realy are better.

  7. pool: just because he has his UNCLE'S surname doesn't mean he should be automatically given a drive. Bruno hasn't achieved ANYTHING in motor racing and was probably only given his race at HRT because of his uncles legacy. Now that they see that he's mediocre and the press no longer care they have probably decided to give the car to a real driver rather than be embarrassed by Bruno anymore.
Prove me wrong please and come up with Bruno's achievements. I know you won't because he has none.
"carry's the most famous name in the history of F1" That's like saying that anyone called Pele should be a great footballer. Maybe we should all call our kids famous names as (in your argument) they should be given preference over others due to this. What an IDIOT you sound.

  8. I really feel sorry for Bruno, carrying an impossible last name to live up to (Schumacher's son, or Zidane's son must be right up there in the future), not bringing in any money in a team that has had a shortage since day 1...
Hopefully he gets a second chance in a more decent team, some sons actually didnt do bad at all despite legendary forefathers in F1, like Hill or Villeneuve, and more recently Rosberg... I hope bruno wont follow the likes of the Brabham sons...

The only thing I'm kinda disappointed in is that he never really dominated Chandhok, equally rookie but a lot lower rated as paying driver...

Anyway I suppose he's been victim of the lack of cash flow, if HRT was serious about improving it's status, they should have gone for Klien and not such a below-average slouch like Yamamoto (is Honda so blind in sponsoring this guy instead of compatriots like Takuma Sato?)

  9. So they dropped the man who carry's the most famous name in the history of F1.
Its all about the money, they bring in a Japanese driver who has the backing of Honda, does this mean something?
HRT are bound to fail, they have no sence of history, they will get the comeback engine of Honda and they will fail grandiouse.
In footbal the Spaniard's get the titel, Alonso will get one with Ferrari, but as a Spanish F1 team there realy is nothing. Stuppid, stuppid organisation.

  13. Regarding Mr. Texas Tifosi you should consider pulling you Texas sized head out of your Texas sized Arse. He regularly waxed Chandhok's at iSport. And Bruno was the first driver to sign with any of the three lame @#$% teams in hopes that they would have lived up to half of what they promised. Obviously that never transpired as they found that F1 is no teddy bear's tea party. HRT's car has already been scrapped in hopes of 2011's car and they can't even get any new parts for the bucket of bolts. Can't even get a decent third driver as Yamamoto won't fare much better. Probably has a ton of cash though.
And don't ever speak of what you might think Ayrton would feel about his nephew's performance. You have no clue and niether does anybody else. A poor comment indeed.

  14. I think most people here saw the Senna they wanted to see, not the real one. He is nothing like Piquet jr. From the world he comes from he seemed somewhat down to earth. He was willing to talk to reporters and did not seem arrogant. Bruno was not given a ride in a top team in his early 20's. Is Bruno as good as his UNCLE, no. He raced and fairly well in all the feeders series. He placed second in GP2. Nico won GP2, is the difference between 1st & 2nd that big that Senna is only hear because of his name??? Please. Unlike Piquet the problem is the car not the driver.

  15. I really hate to admit that Senna is to blame, but all anyone can compare; is car to car and Chandhok has continually out performed Bruno..
Perhaps in a better car he (Bruno) will have a better mindset and performance, but he must realize the first person he has to beat is his teammate

  16. a team with no aspirations should not even be on the grid. every team, no matter how low on the totem pole, has aspirations and specific goals to meet. if not scoring points, then finishing races without binning the car. or beat the rival immediately in front of you in the standings. if they allow the goals to go unmet and do nothing to improve, they should not even be in a competitive sport. they did what they had to do. bruno is but a shadow, if that, of his uncle. i expect Ayrton has been looking down shaking his head in disappointment for some time.
