Preston midfielder Richard Chaplow is confident his side can make a winning start to their Championship campaign at Ipswich this weekend.North End face a long trek to Suffolk to face a Tractor Boys outfit with an outstanding record at Portman Road.

But Chaplow said: "Ipswich is a long way and they are a very good team, but all the lads are quietly positive that we can go down there and get the points.

"The lads are really optimistic about the season and we really think that we've a good enough team to do well in the league."
