Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson could hand competitive debuts to Alan Power and Ritchie Jones in the home clash with Colchester on Saturday.Power, who arrived on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest, and Jones, released by Manchester United, have featured prominently in the club's pre-season programme and will hope for midfield starting spots.

Wilson has promised James Brown a striking berth this season after two seasons on the wing, but it is unclear who his partner will be with Joel Porter, Richie Barker and Michael Mackay all in contention.

Sam Collins takes the armband off Ritchie Humphreys after Wilson named the imposing centre-back his team captain this week and made Humphreys club captain.

Young duo Matty Tymon and Mark Cook (both thigh) are Pools' only absentees.
