Juande Ramos has refused to rule out the fact Dimitar Berbatov may still leave Spurs, with Manchester and Barcelona his possible destinations. The Tottenham coach explained where the North London club stand in the summer transfer dealings and hinted that he could be biding his time until the major clubs in Europe have finished buying and selling.
Berbatov has been at the centre of much speculation over the summer with Manchester United and now Barca said to be interested, but Ramos was insistent that the Spanish giants had made no contact.
"Nobody from Barca has asked me about Berbatov. There has been no movement on that front. All I know is what I read in the papers," he told Sport.
"We will have to wait and see what happens. It is a question of waiting a bit more and then we will see how things turn out.
"All I can say about that is that I know nothing about it either. We have a list of forwards and we are working on that, not on what journalists or agents are saying.
"Many things have been said and half of them are just not true. The representatives are doing their job at this stage. "
Tottenham have been linked to a host of players since the end of last season and have already signed several big names, including Heurelho Gomes, Luka Modric, Giovani Dos Santos and David Bentley - and Ramos hinted that there could be more.
"If we look at things along general lines then Tottenham are the club that has been the busiest this summer," he added.
"All the major clubs will finish changing their squads next week. The Champions League starts then and some leagues too.
"I do not expect many surprises, but there could be some interesting late moves."
In recent days, the north London outfit are said to have been locked in talks to sign Zenit St Petersburg's Russian star Andrei Arshavin, but Ramos was keen to state that no deal had yet been done.
"The truth is that Tottenham have not signed Arshavin. I cannot say whether a deal is close or a long way off, but I have to repeat that we have not signed him," he added.

Stam a flop?? Dont think winning a treble can be classed as failure
yes berba is great talent, do you man u fans really think he will be great for you?? He is moody and sulky and clearly not a team player and where does that leave rooney and tevez?? hope he does go to you then when sir alex subs him you can all see what a sulky git he is. I give him one season at united. he will be a flop, remember forlan, stamm, veron?? good luck
How can one player, however brilliant he may be, potentially scupper the start of our season like this? By now we should have a squad totally committed and the old and new players all getting on each other's wavelength, but all this uncertainty is as annoying as one of Berba's big sulks. If we get a new forward in so late in the pre-season, unless it all just happens to click straight away, then the team will lose out as that new strike partnership takes time to gel in the early weeks. And it's a sad truth that Man U's new number 9, in his lovely red shirt with the golden badges on the arms that he didn't even work for, won't give a damn!
the sooner he goes the better for the lane
come on berba is a red devil by destiny
